UCMR3 Fact Sheet

Eaton Analytical recently completed a comprehensive Fact Sheet summary of the specific requirements of the U.S. EPA's Unregulated Contaminants Monitoring Rule 3 (UCMR3) for water systems serving >10,000 retail population.

UCMR3 compliance monitoring officially commences on January 1, 2013 – just six months from now. This new Rule includes sampling and testing requirements for each participating water system's entry point(s) and selected locations within the distribution system. In addition, UCMR3 requires verification of certain information and upload of compliance data into the Safe Drinking Water Accession and Review System (SDWARS).

Key dates for compliance with the UCMR3 include:

  • Representative Sample Plans (for Groundwater Systems) by August 1, 2012
  • Sample Inventory Location and Schedules Update by October 1, 2012
  • Sampling to commence on January 1, 2013
  • Monitoring and reporting to be completed by December 31, 2015
